Outback Whampoa

Andy joined Outback as a part-time server when he was studying Psychology at university, soon becoming a trainer, and then transiting to a management role. He has worked at Outback Whampoa for over 11 years in total, and is now their Managing Partner.

What attracted you to work at Outback?
Outback gives me the opportunity to meet different people, and the chance to know more about them. I try my best to cater to their needs and show them the best of Outback, giving them a memorable and satisfying dining experience every time they visit.

What does “No Rules, Just Right” philosophy mean to you personally?
Every guest has their own preferences and standards. We try our best to satisfy them, by creating a dish that belongs only to them, and making them feel at home.

How would you like to be remembered by customers?
I want the customers to walk into the restaurant seeing our smile, and leaving the restaurant with a smile on their faces. We are always smiling and very hospitable!

What is your favorite Outback menu dish?
Our signature dish: Chocolate Thunder From Down Under. Every component of the Chocolate Thunder, from the base, the sauce to the cream, is homemade at Outback. The high standard of the food also represents my work attitude!

What hobbies or special interests do you pursue in your leisure time?
I am a foodie! I always look for interesting restaurants to try, and I learn a lot from their operation as well. I observe how they serve their customers and look for things that I can bring back to Outback, making our team even better.
